36 year-old Seth Spidell of Hilo was sentenced to ten years in prison in relation to a narcotics and firearms search warrant that was executed upon a Keaukaha residence and property in 2022.

Spidell was sentenced for five felony charges in relation to the incident. Despite Prosecutors arguing for a fifteen-year sentence, the Court ordered that the sentences be served concurrently for a ten-year total.

According to police reports, Area I Vice officers recovered over eighteen (18) pounds of methamphetamine, an Ingram MAC 10 9mm semi-automatic pistol, two unserialized 9mm semiautomatic handguns, a thirty round high-capacity pistol magazine, ammunition, three digital scales, a high-speed bill counter, and over $13,000.00 in U.S. currency.

On September 12, 2024, Spidell appeared in Hilo Circuit Court where he entered “Guilty” pleas to the charges of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, Attempted Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, two counts of Ownership or Possession Prohibited, and a single charge of Manufacturing, Purchasing, or Obtaining Firearm Parts to Assemble a Firearm Having no Serial Number. Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, Attempted Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Second Degree, and Ownership or Possession Prohibited are all class B felony offenses punishable by a maximum penalty of a ten-year prison term.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Elyssa Correia Keltner.
