Mayor Mitch Roth is encouraging residents to apply for open positions on several of the County’s boards and commissions.
Residents who join these boards will have the chance to contribute to important county initiatives and help guide policies on issues that matter to Hawai‘i Island.
In a press release Mayor Roth said, “Serving on a board or commission is a rewarding way to support our island and make a real difference for our communities. We invite all residents with a passion for public service to consider applying.”
Current openings are available on the following boards and commissions:
- Tax Board of Review
- Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONC)
- Cultural Resources Commission
- Salary Commission
- Youth Commission
- Water Board
- Police Commission
- Committee on the Status of Women
- Merit Appeals Board
- Fire Board of Appeals
- Game Management Advisory Commission (GMAC)
- Kailua Village Design Commission
- Liquor Commission
- Leeward Planning Commission
- Windward Planning Commission
- Fire Commission
