Hawaiʻi Island police arrested and charged 31-year-old Jordan Kekolonahekuahiwielawemaikealohaa J Botelho of Papaikou, who was wanted for a warrant of arrest for violation of order and burglary.
On Monday, Area I Criminal Investigation Division members received a public tip alerting them that Botelho was leaving Honomu Town in a black Toyota 4Runner. South Hilo patrol officers stopped the 4Runner in the area of Highway 19 and the Mill Road intersection and Botelho was arrested without incident.
After conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office, Botelho was charged with:
Four counts of violating an order for protection
Two counts of first-degree burglary
First-degree terroristic threatening
Second-degree criminal tampering
Botelho’s bail was set at $9,500.
Botelho made his initial court appearance yesterday afternoon; however he remains in custody on another pending criminal investigation involving the possession of a firearm. Additionally, there are other investigations Botelho is suspected of being involved in that upon completion will be forwarded to the County Prosecutor’s Office with charges possibly filed at a later date.
