A “Surfers Healing” event is scheduled to take place today at Richardson Ocean Park in Hilo from 9am to 3pm.
The event is designed for children with special needs, and allows them an opportunity to experience the thrill of riding the waves alongside skilled surfers and volunteers.
Surfers Healing camps originated in California and are now held around the world, providing the opportunity for more than 6,000 children annually. The event aims to create a safe and supportive environment where children with special needs can connect with the ocean and enjoy the transformative power of the ocean waves. It embodies the spirit of inclusivity, compassion, and the healing power of the ocean.
