The 3rd Annual “Fill a Cruiser Food Drive” event will be held at the Kona Costco warehouse parking lot today from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The event, which is aimed at providing food to in need Hawaiʻi island residents, is a collaborative effort between the Hawai’i County Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section, Costco of Kona and the Food Basket Inc.
Police will have a marked police cruiser parked in front of Costco where non-perishable food items can be donated. These items will then be distributed to the Food Basket, where they will be provided to in need Hawaiʻi Island residents.
During the event, monetary donations to the Maui Food Bank will also be accepted. These monies will be used to help with the increasing need for food assistance following the wildfires.
