The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 12, 2023. There will be no road work or contraflow on Highway 130 on Monday, June 12 in observance of King Kamehameha Day. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

Shoulder closure in both directions at Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) and Alakahi Place on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of a temperature sensor.

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 11, in the vicinity of Puuhue Road on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstruction of a weakened shoulder.
