The Hawaiʻi County Fire Department announced the establishment of a temporary fire station located at 1382 Kīlauea Street in Hilo.
The temporary station, which is a necessary safety measure ensuring that normal emergency operations for the community can continue uninterrupted., will be in operation beginning this summer while the Central Fire Station at 466 Kinoʻole Street undergoes repairs.
In a press release Hawaiʻi County Fire Chief Kazuo Todd said, “We are committed to providing the highest level of service to our community, and this temporary fire station is necessary to ensure that we can continue to respond to emergencies in a timely and effective manner,”
Chief Todd will also be hosting a question and answer session for the community this Wednesday, May 17 from 5pm-7pm at the Aupuni Center Conference Room located on 101 Pauahi Street.
