Gov. David Ige announced the release of $87,769,968 in funds released in July and August 2022 for Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) that will be administered by various state departments.
“We continue to strive for a safer, more equitable and sustainable community infrastructure. I’m committed to building and improving our most valuable public facilities, such as our schools, parks and roads statewide said Governor Ige in a statement.”
Big Island projects receiving funding include:
Hōlualoa Elementary School, Campus Improvements, Phase 1 -the state will finance planning and design for campus improvements including a new building with classrooms, flexible learning spaces, a library and/or administrative facilities, and parking.
- Amount released – $2,000,000.00
- Total project costs -$57,000,000.00
Terminal Improvements, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport.
- Amount released $3,000,000.00
- Total project costs $3,000,000.00
