On Wednesday, April 13, First Hawaiian Bank was made aware of a fraudulent email that was potentially sent to their customers soliciting confidential information.
The suspicious email containing the subject line “ACTION REQUIRED! Please verify your account information” or something similar was not distributed by the bank but rather sent by scammers in an attempt to gain access to personally identifiable information.
Customers who received this email message were warned to delete it immediately; while customers who provided information via one of the links in the email or replied to the sender are encouraged to contact FHB via telephone or in person as soon as possible.
As a reminder, FHB will not ask customers to provide confidential information such as account numbers, social security numbers, passwords, etc. via email or text message.
