The Department of Transportation has announced a number of lane closures throughout Hawaiʻi Island during the week of April 11, 2022. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. No daytime roadwork is scheduled for Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational. Below is a detailed list of scheduled roadwork and maintenance:
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 22 and 23, Old Volcano Road and Alii Kane Street, through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.
HONAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 84 and 85, Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kapua Mauka Road, through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
KONA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 105 and 106, Hawaii Belt Road and Mamalahoa Highway, through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.

HILO
Right lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in the northbound direction near mile marker 2.5, Shipman Street and Wailuku Drive, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Wailuku Stream Bridge repair work.
HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, through Friday, April 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.
HONOMU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 25 and 26, Hawaii Belt Road and Puualaea Homestead Road, through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.
