(AP) — Honolulu’s top prosecutor says a judge was wrong to grant an acquittal to a Hawaiʻi lawmaker charged with driving under the influence. Police say state Rep. Sharon Har was driving the wrong way down a major thoroughfare. Police say officers smelled alcohol on her breath. In the middle of her trial, a judge granted her defense attorney’s motions for a dismissal and acquittal. Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm says there was a strong case against Har. Prosecutors can’t appeal. Har’s defense attorney, Howard Luke, says he wants the public to know the judge made the right call.
