On Wednesday, members of the Rotary Club of Kona Mauka presented over 300 “Mahalo Gift Boxes” to Kona Community Hospital staff as part of the Rotary Days of Service.
The Rotary’s second quarter theme is “Giving Thanks and Aloha.”
Members of the rotary arrived at the hospital in a limousine from Pink Limo Kona that contained over 300 gift boxes packed with assorted snacks and gift cards to local restaurants including Magic Sands Grill, Kona Fish Hopper and Caffee Florian.
Several members of the rotary, also known as “rotarians” were on site to pass out the gift boxes while thanking frontline workers for their service.
Kona Mauka Rotary President Sam Johnson summed up the event in these words, “This is much needed and will help our frontline workers feel more appreciated and have this as a takeaway of community praise.”
