During the week of March 29, 2021, through April 4, 2021, Hawai‘i Island police arrested 29 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Six of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. None of the drivers were under the age of 21.
There have been 331 DUI arrests so far in 2021 compared with 266 during the same period last year, an increase of 24.4 percent.
DUI roadblocks and patrols will continue island wide.
