HONOLULU (AP) — A U.S. judge is dismissing a case against a victim of a former Honolulu prosecutor recently sentenced for obstructing justice and bank fraud. Ransen Taito was scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 19 after he lied to a grand jury. But U.S. prosecutors say former prosecutor Katherine Kealoha told Taito to lie. It says Kealoha told Taito his mother could go to jail if he told the truth about money in trust fund accounts Kealoha managed. Kealoha served as a court-appointed guardian for assets Taito and his sister inherited as children. Kealoha admitted stealing the trust fund money and has been ordered to pay restitution.
