Hawaii Food Basket will distribute food at three locations this week:
- Na’alehu Hongwanji Temple, Na’alehu, Tuesday, Dec. 8, starting at 10 a.m.
- Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium, Hilo, Wednesday, Dec. 9, starting at 10 a.m.
- Kamakoa Nui Skate Park, Waikoloa, Friday, Dec. 11, starting at 10 a.m.
The Food Basket will continue distributing food until noon unless the food supply runs out.
Volunteers will place the food in your back seat or trunk, so please leave space. And wear a mask.

Hawaii Food Basket is the island’s only food bank. Executive Director Kristin Frost Albrecht says they welcome anybody in need of food. The organization is funded by grants and donations. Albrecht says they purchase food locally from local farmers, ranchers, and stores, and they welcome donations. For more, go to hawaiifoodbasket.org
