Hawaii County Civil Defense has reported the island has suffered one new death from COVID-19, bringing the island’s total to 49.

The island today has confirmed 9 new cases of COVID-19. The State Department of Health did not release a full state report and says it will include today’s information in a report on Monday around noon.

Civil Defense says most of the new cases are in West Hawaii, with most in people 40 and younger.  There will be a COVID-19 drive-through test tomorrow at Keauhou Shopping Center from 9 til noon.  Anybody may get tested, symptoms or not.   Many of those who have COVID-19 have no or few symptoms, but may still spread the virus to others.

The tests are being conducted by Ali’i Health behind Regal Cinemas, down the entrance across from Sam Choy’s Restaurant.  There is no charge, but you’re asked to bring your insurance card if you have insurance.  However, no insurance is needed to get tested.
