According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 411,117 in the last 24 hours. Deaths worldwide increased by 4,256.
According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 61,514 cases in the last 24 hours. The number of new cases reported daily is down from the previous two days. In the last day, the number of reported deaths from COVID-19 increased by 353.
Statewide, there are 14,672 cases of COVID-19 cases, with around 3,055 active. On Sunday, the Big Island recorded 51 new cases of COVID-19 the largest daily count the island has had and the highest number of new cases in the state, surpassing even O’ahu. The island’s total number of COVID-19 cases is 1,221, with 348 active. Both the Big Island and Lanai have seen surges in recent days.
Hawaii County Civil Defense says the recent cases are concentrated in housing areas in the North Kona and South Hilo districts. The State maps show the following for the new cases in the last 14 days, plus the positivity rate–the percent of people who have been tested and have a positive test result:
