The Board of NaLeo TV issued a statement Saturday afternoon regarding the FBI executing a warrant and searching the station’s Hilo headquarters last Thursday, saying, in part, “The Board is satisfied with the level of cooperation provided to date and will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure full cooperation with
the investigation.”
The FBI flew several agents to the island and showed up at the NaLeo TV headquarters at 91 Mo’ohuli Street early Thursday. Jason White, the FBI’s official spokesman for the state, located on O’ahu, confirmed there is an ongoing investigation, and that the FBI also searched multiple locations on O’ahu in connection with an ongoing investigation. He said no other locations on the Big Island [including NaLeo’s Kona production facility] were served with warrants in connection with the Na Leo situation. He confirmed there were no arrests as part of Thursday’s raid. White said the FBI would not release additional information while the investigation is under way.
NaLeo TV CEO and General Manager Stacy Higa declined to comment on Thursday and referred calls to the Assistant General Manager, Micah Alameda, who confirmed the warrant search and said all employees were cooperating.
Members of the Na Leo Board, according to the web site, include Chair Claude Onizuka, Vice Chair Sidney Fuke, Board Secretary Gail Uejo, Treasurer Connie Kiriu, plus Anne Chung, Howard Kelly, Dwayne Mukai, William T. Takaba, and Jennifer Zelko-Schlueter.
The statement also noted that NaLeo TV is back in full operation.
