Kona Community Hospital’s spokesperson, Judy Donovan, confirmed that the facility has 4 patients with COVID-19. Two of them are in the Intensive Care Unit on ventilators, and two in the Medical/Surgical Unit, but isolated from other patients.
Hawaii County Civil Defense reports there are 15 people with COVID-19 hospitalized on the island. Hilo Medical Center has confirmed 11 COVID patients–8 COVID-19 patients in the COVID Unit, and 3 in the ICU.
North Hawaii Community Hospital is refusing to say how many patients it has, saying to do so would violate patient privacy laws, even though New West Broadcasting has not asked for names, genders, ethnicities, ages, or any identifying information.
