The State Department of Health says there are 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, all on O’ahu. And one additional death is now showing in O’ahu’s count, bringing the state’s death toll from COVID-19 to 25. O’ahu has 18 deaths, Maui County has 6 deaths, and one death of a Hawaii resident was out of state.
The state’s cumulative total is 1,435, with 1,113 people with COVID-19 released from isolation
Hawaii County’s cumulative count is 114, with 7 active. Hawaii County Civil Defense reports one person on the island is still hospitalized, at Kona Community Hospital. Kona Hospital has had 3 employees test positive plus a “visiting doctor,” whose positive count was included after the hospital contracted Premier Medical Group to test all its employees and contractors. The hospital retested all direct health care workers two days ago, on Monday, and will retest all employees and contractors again this Friday.
