The state reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, the lowest number in weeks. The state’s cumulative total is now 1,393 with 1,057 released from isolation, and no longer being monitored.
Hawaii County added one new case and now has 10 active cases, according to the State Department of Health. One person is hospitalized with COVID-19 at Kona Community Hospital.
O’ahu’s total case count is now 1,079. It was 1,065 on Sunday, but the State added not just the 11 new cases for the island but 3 cases reported on Sunday as “pending,” meaning the State had not assigned those cases to the person’s island of residency.
Neither Maui County nor Kaua’i had any new cases.
There were no additional deaths reported, though the state has lost 24 people to COVID-19.
