Waimea Community Association’s Thursday, May 7 town meeting will go on, as usual, but a bit differently than usual: the Virtual Waimea Town Meeting will be”live” on Facebook at 5:30 p.m., Thurs., May 7, 2020. And audience questions are welcome.
Waimea Community Association President James Hustace says people in the community are asking, what more should we know and be thinking or doing (or not doing?) as Hawai’i edges its way through Week 6 of the Governor-mandated stay-at-home Covid-19 closedown?
To attempt to answer these questions, Waimea Community Association will host a Virtual Waimea Town Meeting “live” on Facebook at 5:30 p.m., Thurs., May 7, 2020.
Presenters include Hawai’i Lt. Gov. Josh Green, M.D., State Senator Lorraine Inouye, State Representative David Tarnas, Councilman Dr. Tim Richards, and Hawai’i Community College Chancellor Rachel Solemsaas. Waimea Police Capain Sherry Bird and Keck Observatory’s Chief of Operations Rich Matsuda will also give brief updates.
Each panelist will have an opportunity to share their priorities, issues and concerns, and then will participate in a Q&A facilitated by WCA President James Hustace.
Questions may be emailed to: WaimeaCommunityAssociation@gmail.com. They also may be typed into the “live” Chat but it’s better to submit prior to the program.
To log on to the program, go to www.Facebook.com/WaimeaCommunityAssociation and look for the link just before 5:30 p.m.
