According to State Department of Health, Hawaii added only 1 new case of COVID-19 to its counts, as of Friday, May 1, at noon. The state now has 619 cases, with 532 released from isolation, leaving 87 active cases in the state. A total of 72 people have required hospitalization, and the state has suffered 16 deaths, 11 on O’ahu and 5 on Maui. There are two new hospitalizations on O’ahu today.
Today’s statewide total includes 400 cases on Oahu–which includes today’s one new case, and of those, 368 have been released from isolation. There are 116 cases in Maui County (84 released from isolation), 73 on Hawaii island (60 released from isolation), and 21 in Kauai County (20 released from isolation), according to health officials.
