The State Department of Health has added 1 to the COVID-19 case count, bringing the island’s confirmed cases to 70, with 40 recovered. The other new case reported today is on O’ahu. Both new cases are minors. The state now has 606 confirmed cases, with 488 recovered. Statewide, 68 people have required hospitalization.
Neither Maui nor Kaua’i had any new cases today. Kaua’i has gone 21 days without a new case.
The State Department of Health has been advocating for social distancing since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and the state has been on a “stay at home” order which has now been extended until May 31.
