Worldwide cases: 2,501,156 with 171,810 deaths
U.S. cases: 788,920 with 42,458 deaths
In Hawaii, as of Monday, April 20 at noon, the State Department of Health reports we have 584 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 423 released from isolation. They report Hawaii Island with 64 cumulative cases, 38 of whom have been released from isolation. The cluster in Kona from one McDonald’s employee with COVID-19 now officially numbers 30.
On Monday, Governor David Ige said he will likely extend the “stay at home” order past April 30. He said he and the four County Mayors have been discussing how and when to reopen parts of the economy. Allowing elective surgeries may be one of the first steps.
