State Senator Kai Kahele announced today via a Facebook live stream that he is being tested for Covid-19 at the Queen’s North Hawai’i Community Hospital test site in Waimea. Senator Kahele indicated that he has no symptoms and feeling healthy, however felt it was prudent to be tested since he had direct exposure to State Senator Clarence Nishihara who tested positive earlier this week. Senator Kahele and Nishihara have neighboring offices in the State Capitol which was shut down on Thursday after Nishihara’s positive test.
He shared his personal experience with the testing process and procedures. He described the test as “uncomfortable, but not that bad.” He was informed that his test results will not be available for 7-10 days.
