The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of April 7, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) 

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 3, in the vicinity of East Palai Street, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mulching and shoulder work.

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 0.9 to 1, in the vicinity of Leilani Street and East Lanikaula Street, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for maintaining crosswalks and pedestrian crossing symbols.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

NAALEHU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 56 to 57, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements.

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 14 to 15, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Chin Chuck Road, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming.

 QUEEN KAAHUMANU HWY (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 67 to 71, vicinity of Kawaihae Road and past Puako Beach Drive, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

PAHOA KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130)

Single lane closure on Pahoa Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 14, on Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 9.6 to 12.3, on Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.
