The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of October 14, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
KANOELEHUA AVENUE/ MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)
HILO
Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 1 to 5, in the vicinity of E. Lanikaula Street and Ikaika Lane, on Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 60 to 66, on Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 89 to 93, on Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to work on safety upgrades to the roadway.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 4.5 to 4.6, in the vicinity of Kahoa Street, on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and Thursday, Oct. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for maintenance at Honolii Bridge.

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 7.2 to 7.3, in the vicinity of Kaiele Homstead Road, on Monday, Oct. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for maintenance at Kaiele Bridge.

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 7.7 to 7.8, in the vicinity of Puu Moi Road, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for maintenance at Kalaoa Bridge.
