44 year-old Brandan Nicholson, who was arrested and charged in relation to a recent Kona Bank robbery, made his initial appearance in Kona District Court.
After following a preliminary hearing, the judge found probable cause for the charges and Nicholson was ordered to appear in Court on September 13.
Nicholson remains in custody in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
As the Complaint alleges, Nicholson was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Theft in the Second Degree. The more serious offense, Robbery in the Second Degree, is a class B felony offense which carries a penalty of either a ten-year prison term or four years probation and up to eighteen months in jail.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kauanoe Jackson.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
