A 66 year-old male visitor from Japan died Monday after being pulled from waters off Lāwa‘i Beach on Kauaʻi last week.
On August 14, first responders were dispatched for an unresponsive swimmer. Bystanders administered CPR until medics arrived and took over advanced resuscitation efforts. The victim was transported to the Wilcox Medical Center and was later pronounced dead on August 19.
An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
