49-year-old Andrea-Gabrielle Miller, the female pedestrian involved in a recent traffic incident on Ainaloa Boulevard in Pahoa, has died.
Police learned that a 2022 Hyundai pickup truck traveling west on Ainaloa Boulevard, during the early hours of August 5, struck Miller who was crossing the road outside of the crosswalk.
Miller was located unresponsive at the scene and transported to the Hilo Benioff Medical Center where she remained in critical condition. Yesterday morning, after succumbing to her injuries, Miller was pronounced dead. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
The operator of the Hyundai pickup truck was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time police do not believe impairment or speed to be factors in this investigation.
