The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of May 27, 2024. There will be no closures on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day unless permitted. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)
VOLCANO/HAWAII NATIONAL PARK
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 27 to 30 in the vicinity of Pii Mauna Drive and Haunani Road, beginning Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mechanical mowing and shoulder work.
PAHALA
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 53 to 55 in the vicinity of Kaalaiki Road, beginning Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for scraping and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 to 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 21 to 23, in the vicinity of Maulua Bay and Kapehu Road, beginning, Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for mowing and shoulder work.
QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHAY (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 71 to 71.5, beginning Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for survey work.

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 15, on Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work.
