Hawaiʻi Island police are asking the public to help them identify and locate a suspect involved in an Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle (UCPV) investigation that occurred in Kailua-Kona on August 29.
The suspect, who was last observed fleeing from officers in the 74-5400 block of Mamalahoa Highway, is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighing approximately 175-180 pounds, with brown facial hair. He was last seen wearing grey tennis shoes with white soles, dark-colored pants, and a black t-shirt with white and red lettering. He was also observed carrying and later wearing a yellow or green construction-style jacket or shirt and had a grey hat with a dark-colored background and white/red lettering on the front of the hat.
