Larry Butler was thanked for his past service on the EHCC Board, for organizing EHCC’s lecture series and giving many interesting talks himself, and for being a prime mover behind the renovations to the old police chief’s garage, that transformed it into a dedicated studio for EHCC’s Javanese gamelan, a bronze percussion orchestra.
The awardee was given t-shirts emblazoned with “Distinguished Volunteer 2023.” and were invited to the dress rehearsal for “The Prom”, a new musical production by the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre being performed at EHCC from March 17 to April 2.
