As of 5am this morning, the National Weather Service extended the High Wind Warning for Hawaiʻi Island through the evening and a High Surf Advisory for West facing shores through Wednesday evening. The Flash Flood Warning has been cancelled.
Because several roads remain closed this morning due to high winds, Saddle road a good option for travel across island.
Highway 19 remains closed at mile marker 46 near Honokaa. Other roads closed include Old Mamalahoa Highway between Mauna Loa St. and Puaono Road mauka of Honokaa.
Roads may close without warning throughout the day due to high winds.
