38 year-old Davin Feary of Hilo was indicted on charges of kidnapping, abuse, and terroristic threatening stemming from a domestic incident that occurred at the Prince Kuhio on December 2.
Feary was arrested on a grand jury warrant and is scheduled to make his initial
appearance in Hilo Circuit Court today. He remains in custody in lieu of
$56,000.00 bail.
As the Indictment alleges, Feary was charged with Kidnapping (intentionally or
knowingly restrained another person with intent to inflict bodily injury and/or terrorize),
misdemeanor Abuse of a Family or Household Member, petty misdemeanor Abuse of a Family
or Household Member, and Terroristic Threatening in the Second Degree. Kidnapping, as
charged, is a class A felony offense punishable by a twenty-year prison term.
The investigation was led by Officer Sy Keltner and assisted by Officer Brian Kohara,
South Hilo Patrol, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy
Prosecuting Attorney Kirsten Selvig.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and
until proven guilty.
