Poi Dog Deli in Kailua-Kona is serving children free of charge through their ‘Keiki Food Fund.’

The ‘Keiki Food Fund’ was created by Poi Dog Deli owners, Celeste and Taylor Cline.  The program’s goal is to offer Keiki Menu items, ‘Free of Charge to any family that comes into the restaurant in need of help.  The items are free and no other purchase is required to receive a meal from the Fund.

To use the Keiki Fund, parents need to call 808.329.2917 to phone in their order before coming into the restaurant.

“During the pandemic, we saw families struggling to put food on the table for their kids. Though our program is not to the size of our local Food Bank on the island, we continue to be blessed by those in our community that want to donate funds to this program in order to provide a healthy meal for our island Keiki”, expressed Celeste Cline, CoOwner of Poi Dog Deli in a press release.

So far, the ‘Keiki Food Fund’ has provided over 5,000 free meals to families.  Poi Dog Deli will continue to provide free Keiki meals until donations run out.
