This Thursday, October 27, Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense and the USGS Hawaiʻi Volcano Observatory will host a second “Mauna Loa Volcano Status Update and Community Discussion” at the Robert N. Herkes Gymnasium located on 96-1219 Kamani Street in Pahala.
The purpose of the event, which is free and open to the public, is to share information about Mauna Loa’s status and the County’s preparedness plan with members of the community.
Thursday’s event will be hosted by Talmadge Magno, Civil Defense Agency Administrator and Ken Hon Scientist in Charge at Hawaiʻi Volcano Observatory.
