Yesterday, a large number of Big Islanders came out to Hisaoka Gym in Kapaau looking to land a background role on Jason Momoaʻs new Apple TV series, Yenedakine, which tells the story of Hawaiʻi’s unification and colonization from an indigenous point of view.
Big Island residents, including keiki and kupuna, came from as far as Hilo to meet with Alessi Hartigan casting staff who put everyone’s information and photos into their database. Casting will reach out to individuals when their specific types or skillset is needed on the series.
Yenedakine will film on Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island throughout the fall.
Those who were unable to attend this weekend’s casting event can register for background work at Alessihartigancasting.com
