This August, military units are scheduled to conduct essential training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA). Training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PTA in the restricted airspace. Essential training is subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors. Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.
The August training schedule is as follows:
- August 1-16 Hi. Army National Guard training: Small arms and convoy live fire. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.
- August 16-18 Close Air Support live fire. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.
- August 22-28 Helicopter gunnery live fire. Training will occur during daytime and nighttime hours.
There are no convoys or hunting opportunities currently planned for August.
