The Department of Transportation has announced a number of lane closures throughout Hawaiʻi Island during the week of July 4, 2022. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational. Below is a detailed list of scheduled roadwork and maintenance:
KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 5 and 7, Ikaika Street and Keaau Loop, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder stabilization work.
KEAAU
Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 8, Kipimana Street and Keaau 9 ½ mile, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)
PAHALA
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 56 and 58, Ninole Loop Road and Alanui Road, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
CAPTAIN COOK
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 93and 95, Ohia Malu Road and Kukui O Pae Place, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching and grass cutting.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)
HILO
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 8, Kaaukai Place and Hanawi Street, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree mulching, mowing, and shoulder work.
HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8,from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.
HONOMU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD/ PAHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130)

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.
KAMUELA
Right lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) in the southbound direction near mile marker 5.6, in the vicinity of Saddle Road, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for construction of a new access road.
AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270)

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile markers 2and 7, Kaewa Place and Kaala Road, on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for shoulder work, tree trimming, and general landscaping.
