This March, military units are scheduled to conduct essential training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA). Training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PTA in the restricted airspace. Essential training is subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors. Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.
The March training schedule is as follows:
- March 1-18 Army and Marine Small Arms Training
- March 1-18 Army and Marine Artillery Training
- March 1-25 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Training
- March 3, 14-17 Army and Marine Helicopter Gunnery
The following convoys are also scheduled to take place during the month of March:
- March 2 10-11 a.m. Keaukaha Military Reservation (Hilo) to PTA
- March 3 7-9 a.m. Keaukaha Military Reservation (Hilo) to PTA
- March 5 8-9 a.m. Keaukaha Military Reservation (Hilo) to PTA
- March 6 10 a.m.-noon PTA to Keaukaha Military Reservation (Hilo)
- March 7 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. PTA to Keaukaha Military Reservation (Hilo)
There are no hunting opportunities currently planned for March as of now.
