Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that 31 year-old Olivia Branco of Mountain View was charged with helping Isaac Rosa, who is currently wanted, with unauthorized entry into a Toyota Tacoma.
Branco is the second woman in 10 days to have been charged with offenses related to assisting Isaac Rosa. On December 12th, Prosecutors charged Bosilka Nash with Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree for allegedly rendering assistance to Rosa as well. As the Complaint alleges, Branco was charged with Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree (rendering assistance to another person to hinder the apprehension, prosecution, conviction, or punishment of another person for a felony offense) and Unauthorized Entry Into a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree (enter a motor vehicle without being invited, licensed, or authorized, with the intent to commit theft). She remains in custody in lieu of $10,000.00 bail pending her initial appearance on Thursday, December 23, in Hilo District Court.
The investigation was handled by Officer Christopher Fukumoto, Community Policing, and Officers Michael Sailer and Sheldon Adviento and Detectives John Balberde and Keith Simeona, Special Enforcement Unit, Area I Criminal Investigation Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Soong. 2 The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
