(AP) — Hawaiʻi’s policy of requiring vaccinations or a negative COVID-19 test to bypass quarantine rules for people entering the state will likely stay in place into next year. Lt. Gov. Josh Green told Hawaiʻi News Now he anticipates the “Safe Travels” program will remain until the rest of the world has a better handle on the pandemic. The program has been running for more than a year. Hawaiʻi has among the highest vaccination rates in the nation. Some believe the program is bad for business. But some visitors say they don’t mind the restrictions if it keeps people safe.
