(AP) — Airline workers and Transportation Security Administration staff have been granted a grace period to comply with a Hawaiʻi order that requires people going to state facilities to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the grace period is for thousands of airport and airline employees. Gov David Ige’s office said in a statement that the airlines and TSA have until October 15 to comply. The order went into effect on September 13. Some worry that the tourism industry is being given a pass when other businesses have been forced to comply quickly. Hawaiian Airline officials say they will soon require all US-based employees to be vaccinated.
