(AP) — The adoptive parents of a missing 6-year-old Hawaiʻi girl pulled her out of school to home-school her. A state Department of Education spokeswoman says Isabella Kalua attended kindergarten at Waimanalo Elementary via distance learning last school year. Her adoptive parents filed paperwork in June to withdraw her to home-school her. The search for Kalua continues. Police say she was last seen Sunday night sleeping at home. Sonny Kalua says he and Lehua Kalua adopted the girl in January. He says detectives have instructed them not to speak with reporters.
