Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying persons involved in a break-in that occurred at the Hōlualoa Post Office sometime between Saturday July 10, 2021, and Monday July 12, 2021.
After responding to a report of a possible break in at the Hōlualoa Post Office on July 12, officers determined that unknown persons entered the post office sometime after it closed on Saturday, July 10, and before employees arrived on Monday, July 12.
USPS employees are working to determine if any articles of mail were removed from within the post office. Detectives from the Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area II Criminal Investigation Section are conducting preliminary investigations until agents from the United States Postal Inspection Service arrive on island to continue the investigation.
