Hawai‘i County Police are currently investigating a theft that occurred at a major retail store in Kailua-Kona on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
At 2:43 p.m. an unidentified man was observed walking into the store and using an electronic shopping cart while he shopped. He was observed paying for merchandise and then exiting the store still operating the electronic shopping cart. He continued through the store’s parking lot and was last seen traveling west on Henry Street. The man did not have permission to remove the electronic shopping cart from the property and has since not returned the cart. Police are asking the public to help identify the unknown subject who was pictured in the store’s surveillance photos
