The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Puna District of Hawaii Island.
A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or already occurring. Currently, heavy rains are being reported in the Puna District. Highway 130 is open, but there is heavy rain and ponding in lower Puna
The National Weather Service forecasts rains to continue through this morning.
Due to the Flash Flood Warning, the following advisories are issued;
· Hawaii Police Department reports no road closures at this time, but be aware that roads may close without notice.
· Motorists drive with caution.
· Be on the alert for run-off, ponding of water, and debris.
· All residents in flood-prone areas are asked to remain on the alert for possible flooding conditions.
