The County of Hawaii will provide free drive-through COVID-19 testing at Konawaena High School in Kealakekua on Wednesday, November 25 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Garrett Kim, the Fire Department coordinator for the testing program, free testing will continue each Wednesday at Konawaena High from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m for the forseeable future.
No insurance is necessary to be tested, but please bring your insurance card if you have one. No co-pay for individuals being tested. You do not have to have symptoms in order to be tested.
Please be sure to wear a face covering at all times, and observe social distancing.
The County has said that most recent cases of COVID-19 have been in West Hawaii, with many of the cases in people 40 and younger. Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim is urging people to get tested.
Much of the County’s work to address the COVID-19 pandemic is being funded via the Federal CARES Act Funding. That funding has to be used by the end of December.
